Roanoke Angler offers a range of guide trips for a variety of species throughout SW Virginia and East Tennessee. Our guide team is comprised of seasoned, professional guides with a singular goal—give you the best possible experience on the water.

Float w/Jay TN & VA
Spend the day with shop owner and senior guide—Jay Waide. Whether it is East TN trout & stripers or VA smallmouth & musky, Jay fishes the prime seasons and fisheries throughout the year. He embodies what it means to be a successful, seasoned fishing guide—patient, hardworking, willing to instruct, expert oarsman, part-time pyshcologist, full-time motivator and FISHY AS HELL. All trips with Jay feature top of the line equipment from G. Loomis, Galvan, High Country Boats, SA, RIO and others. Lunch and beverages will be provided during the day. Jay is proud to be USCG licensed and insured.
1 or 2 person Full Day Float — $700 (plus processing fees)

Float Trips—TN/VA Trout
For anglers interested in a full day of fishing, float trips are the best option. Tennessee trout float trips occur on the Watauga River or the South Holston River, two of the nation’s premier tailwater fisheries. Virginia trout floats will take place on the renowned Smith River. This trip is a great option for anglers of all skill levels and offers the opportunity to enjoy idyllic scenery with fishing action throughout the day. Half day floats are available for those who do not wish to spend a full day on the water. All float trips will include the necessary tackle and beverages. Lunch will be provided on full day floats.
1 or 2 person full day — $625 (plus processing fees)
1 or 2 person 1/2 day — $525 (plus processing fees)

Float Trips—VA/TN Smallmouth
For anglers interested in a full day of fishing, float trips are the best option. Experience the excitement of topwater fishing at its best! Virginia smallmouth bass float trips will take place on the New River or the James River. Tennessee smallmouth floats will be on the Nolichucky River or the Holston River. This trip is a great option for anglers of all skill levels and offers the opportunity to enjoy idyllic scenery with fishing action throughout the day. All smallmouth float trips will be full day and include the necessary tackle as well as lunch and beverages.
1 or 2 person full day — $625 (plus processing fees)
1 or 2 person ½ day — $525 (plus processing fees)
